Is it time for you to join us in rebuilding our mental and emotional resilience?

Dear Community,

As I write this it is now a year and nine months after the Black Summer Bushfires of 2019-2020.

How are we feeling internally now that our external world is being re established, taking into account of course that we’re all at different stages of recovery.

After a crisis like we’ve been through it can take time and all of us are very different, and it’s comforting to know that evidence based research has shown that we can establish healthy neural pathways in our brains, know how to calm ourselves and experience joy and peace again.

Learning about the physiology of trauma after a crisis, understanding how the brain works, knowing what to do to help ourselves and using scientifically proven techniques was shared in the three month Mindful Mondays course funded by the CCBRF.

A strong connected community helps recovery and having a healthy brain allows us to explore a new perspective and a positive way forward.

I am much more controlled and balanced now. I have learned how to find balance and calm. An online course would be suited to all people who have been traumatised.

SJ, Verona

I learnt a lot about how the brain works in trauma. It was great to build this knowledge together as a common language.

MC, Upper Brogo

Every session gave me something to work on with a good reminder that there are many forms of exercises for inner work. In a digital format it could appeal to many people.

BV, Quaama

Thank you SO much for making this program available. It has been a much valued kit to add to the toolbox for recovery.

Thriving After Crisis

Based on the feedback we received from Mindful Mondays we’re excited to be offering an online course very soon.

Thriving After Crisis is a six module course over a period of six weeks that includes video lessons and resources, audio tracks, quizzes, a workbook and a weekly Q & A via zoom.

You can take the course anonymously or fully immerse yourself, getting to know the other like minded participants.

If for whatever reason you can’t complete the course you can always pick up the next course. Four to five courses will run each year.

Watch this space for more news about the start date. In the meantime please visit our resources page here

Thank you for reading this far. I’d like to leave you with these thoughts from Viktor Frankl.

“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”

And

“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”

Big love,

Sarah xxx
